Samsung Announces the Galaxy S2 Plus, Same Old Specs with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

We?ve first heard about the Samsung Galaxy SII Plus almost a year ago. And just when we thought that this handset has died of a natural death even before it was released, here comes Samsung suddenly announcing about the said smartphone.

Yes, dear readers, the Samsung Galaxy SII is alive and kicking. Unfortunately it?s kicking out the same old specs as the original Samsung Galaxy SII released in 2011. Only this time, the Galaxy SII plus runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Samsung Galaxy SII Plus which carries the official model number I9105 features the latest TouchWiz User Interface which Samsung calls as Nature UX. It has the same 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA display as the Galaxy SII. Other features include HSPA, Wi-Fi, 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS with Glonass, 2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and zero shutter lag, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, microSD card support. It?s loaded with a 1,650 mAh battery as well.

No words yet on when this handset is going to be released and whether it will be made available in the international market. But then again, would you really be interested in getting a smartphone which is more than a year older already?
